Mount Escape — Knee Push Escape

The knee push escape uses the defender’s legs as levers to create space between themselves and the opponent. By driving a knee into the opponent’s torso or hip area, the bottom player can lift and shift the opponent slightly forward or sideways. This small gap allows the defender to slide their hips out, recover half guard, or re-establish full guard.

This escape is particularly effective against opponents who maintain heavy chest pressure without strong hand control, as it relies on leg-driven leverage rather than upper-body strength. Timing is critical; pushing too early can trigger counters like cross-collar chokes or arm attacks.
