Mount Escape — Bridge and Roll

The classic bridge and roll escape from mount uses explosive hip elevation to unbalance the top player. By trapping one of the opponent’s arms and bridging toward the trapped side, the defender creates enough momentum to roll the opponent over and take a reversal. This technique emphasizes timing, grip control, and bridging explosiveness, making it one of the fundamental escapes taught to beginners and refined by advanced practitioners.
