Wrist Lock
The wrist lock is a joint submission that manipulates the opponent’s wrist to cause pain or force a tap. Simple in concept but versatile in application, it can be used from various positions including guard, side control, or standing. Wrist locks are often used to break grips, control posture, or create openings for other submissions.
While less flashy than chokes or armbars, the wrist lock demonstrates the principle of leverage and control inherent in BJJ. Its effectiveness is amplified when integrated into chains of attacks, offering both tactical control and finishing potential in gi and no-gi contexts.
