Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles

Rubens Charles Maciel (b. 1979), better known as “Cobrinha,” is a five-time IBJJF World Champion and three-time ADCC champion. Competing primarily in the featherweight division, he became famous for his fluid guard work, inverted attacks, and relentless movement.

Cobrinha’s style earned him recognition as one of the greatest guard players in BJJ history. As an instructor, he has also built a legacy by producing champions and spreading his technical approach worldwide.
