Robert Drysdale
Robert Drysdale (b. 1981) is an American-Brazilian grappler who became the first American to win an IBJJF World Championship in the black belt heavyweight division (2005). He also went on to win an ADCC title in 2007, solidifying himself as one of the top non-Brazilian competitors of his era.
Drysdale later transitioned into MMA, competing in the UFC and other promotions. Beyond competition, he has become a respected instructor and historian of BJJ, authoring works on the art’s origins and controversies.
