Leonardo Vieira

Leonardo Vieira (b. 1976) is a multiple-time IBJJF World Champion and ADCC medalist. A black belt under Royler Gracie, he is celebrated for his innovative guard work, submission setups, and competitive success across weight classes.

Vieira is also a co-founder of Checkmat, a major international BJJ team and academy network that has produced numerous champions. His contributions as both a competitor and coach have shaped the modern competitive landscape of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
