Brazilian National Championships

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Jiu-Jitsu, often referred to as the “Brasileiro,” is Brazil’s premier national BJJ tournament. Established before the Mundials, it provided a platform for the country’s top competitors to face off and test themselves. Winning a Brasileiro title has long been considered a mark of prestige, with many champions going on to succeed at the Worlds and other international events.

The tournament reflects the deep talent pool of Brazilian practitioners and has played a major role in shaping the country’s competitive landscape. For many athletes, the Brasileiro is both a stepping stone to international recognition and a matter of national pride.
