Butterfly Sweep
The Butterfly Sweep utilizes the hooks of butterfly guard to off-balance and tip the opponent. By lifting with the legs while controlling the upper body, the defender can reverse the opponent’s weight and secure a dominant position on top. Proper timing and coordination of grip and leg movement are key, as insufficient control can allow the opponent to post and prevent the sweep. This sweep is a versatile foundation for transitions into mount, back control, or knee-on-belly.
