Arm Drag to Back Take

The Arm Drag to Back Take is a fundamental transition that uses an arm drag to off-balance the opponent and create an opening for back control. By pulling the opponent’s arm across the body while controlling their upper torso, the bottom or guard player can slide around to the back, establishing hooks and securing a dominant position. Timing and proper angle are critical, as failing to control the shoulders or hips can allow the opponent to recover posture or defend effectively.
