Frame-and-Bridge Mechanics

Frame-and-bridge mechanics combine framing with hip bridging to create space for escapes or sweeps. Frames establish structural barriers against the opponent, while bridging generates upward or lateral movement to dislodge them.

This combination is particularly effective in mount or side control, allowing the bottom player to manipulate weight distribution and regain guard or positional control. Mastery of frame-and-bridge mechanics improves both defensive options and transition opportunities, highlighting the integration of leverage, timing, and body awareness.
