Compression Control
Compression control uses body weight and positioning to limit opponent movement and neutralize attacks. By applying controlled pressure through chest, hips, or limbs, the practitioner can restrict space, making it difficult for the opponent to escape or counter effectively.
This principle is particularly important in top positions like mount, side control, or knee-on-belly, where the attacker can combine compression with positional dominance to increase control. Proper compression requires balance, alignment, and patience, illustrating how subtle pressure can outweigh brute strength in high-level grappling.
