Belt Rank Divisions
Competitors are separated by belt rank to ensure fair competition among athletes of similar experience. White, blue, purple, brown, and black belt divisions each carry different expectations for technical proficiency and allowable techniques.
For example, leg locks, wrist locks, and certain advanced submissions may be restricted until higher belt levels. Understanding the rules of your division ensures competitors can prepare strategies tailored to their permitted techniques.
