North American Grappling Association (NAGA)
NAGA is one of the largest and most established grappling organizations in the United States, hosting tournaments in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission wrestling, and mixed grappling styles. Founded in 1995, NAGA focuses on both amateur and professional competitors, offering events across a wide range of skill levels and age groups.
NAGA events are known for accessibility, allowing newcomers and elite athletes to compete in the same framework while providing divisions based on experience, weight, and age. The organization emphasizes community engagement and participation, helping spread BJJ at the grassroots level.
With tens of thousands of competitors over its history, NAGA has played a critical role in developing North American grappling talent and providing a competitive platform outside the traditional IBJJF circuit. Its blend of amateur inclusivity and professional exposure makes it a cornerstone of the U.S. BJJ scene.
