Mount Escape — Hip Bump / Hip Switch Roll
Hip bumping and hip switch rolls are dynamic techniques that create larger displacement. The hip bump uses explosive movement to dislodge the opponent forward or to one side, allowing the defender to slide into guard. Hip switch rolls incorporate rotational motion, simultaneously changing hip orientation while rolling, to destabilize the mount and regain a safer position. These escapes are particularly effective against aggressive top players who maintain strong chest-to-chest pressure.
