Armbar Escape — Stack and Step Out / Step Through

Both the stack-and-step variations rely on stacking the opponent with forward pressure to shorten the lever on the elbow, then stepping out or through to remove the arm from the armbar. These escapes combine the mechanics of hip pressure, body stacking, and leg mobility, offering a reliable way to neutralize even tight armbars.

They are often used in competition when timing and positional awareness are critical. These escapes demonstrate the interplay between defensive pressure and positional transitions, allowing the defender to regain control while minimizing exposure to counterattacks.
