Ezekiel Choke
The Ezekiel choke uses the attacker’s sleeve and forearm to create aapply choking pressure, often applied from inside the opponent’s guard or from mount. Its signature feature is that the attacker’s own sleeve wraps around the opponent’s neck, producing acreating tight constriction without requiring complicatedcomplex grips.
FromThis choke can be executed from various positions, but it is especially dominant from mount, the Ezekiel choke becomes even more dominant:where the attacker can control the opponent’scontrols posture while threading the sleeve around the neck, limitingleaving the opponent with few escape options. It is a staple in gi BJJ but can also be adapted for no-gi using arm positioning alone.
The Ezekiel is particularly effective against opponents who leave their head and neck exposed during defensive maneuvers. High-level grapplers often chain it with mount attacks or transitiontransitions to arm locksarmlocks if the choke fails, making it both a submission and positional control tool.
