Side Control Escape — Frame and Roll / Frame and Shrimp

Combining frames with dynamic movement creates more advanced escape options. In the frame and roll, the defender establishes frames on the opponent and rolls toward the frame to reverse positions or recover guard. In the frame and shrimp, frames are used while executing a shrimping motion to slide the hips out from under the opponent. These techniques are versatile because they allow the bottom player to adapt to different top-pressure styles, whether the opponent is heavy and static or mobile and aggressive.
