Back Escape — Leg Over Turn / Spin Under Escape

Throwing a leg over the opponent or spinning under their body are dynamic escapes that use momentum and rotation to free the back. The leg-over turn shifts the opponent’s base and allows the defender to rotate into a more advantageous position, often ending in guard or side control. Similarly, spinning under uses a combination of hip and shoulder rotation to slide out from under the hooks while minimizing exposure to chokes.

These escapes rely on precise timing and body mechanics; improper execution can result in increased exposure or loss of positional control. They exemplify how rotational movement and leverage can complement strength and defensive strategy.
